At PADCA, we have a number of facilities offering different kinds of living and care.

Residential and Assisted Living on a Rental Basis: Villa Assumpta
Villa Assumpta was run by the Oakford Congregation of Dominican Sisters for many years. Whilst it is now managed by PADCA, the ethos of care and warmth created by the Sisters have continued. Villa Siena, adjacent to Villa Assumpta, is still home to Sisters who have retired from active ministry, and who attend regular services in the chapel and visit the residents.
Residential living is R9 000 per person per month and this includes one meal a day. You can choose to add caring services and additional meals as required.
Independent Living on a Rental Basis: Kurume Complex

Nestled amongst established trees, a lovely country feel, Kurume Complex offers independent living, on a rental basis, in a homely complex comprising 8 flats and 5 cottages at 5 Highlands Rd, Mount Michael, Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.We currently have one flat available which is suited for either a single person or a couple and comprises a lounge/dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and sun porch. The rent includes water and security, but excludes electricity. This flat is available for R4428 per month.

Independent Living on a Life Rights Basis: Woodgrove Village

Did you know, we have a number of independent living homes available for purchase at Woodgrove Village now?

It is situated centrally in the northern suburb of Wembley, in Pietermaritzburg. There is a sense of peace and tranquillity once inside the entrance gates. From independent living through to frail care, we offer the full spectrum of living options including support, catering and care services. The undeveloped wilderness space is a favourite area for walks and a haven for birds and other wildlife.

We have three community areas available to residents. The Louis Sennett centre includes a spacious dining room, pub and meeting area. The Community Centre is used for meetings and a range of dynamic social activities including watching sports on the big screen. The Library area is a space of tranquillity in which there are comfy couches to enjoy the books or complete a puzzle.

The 172 independent living units are offered on an extremely advantageous life rights basis, and range in size from 50 to 200 m². The 9 different size options ensure there is a unit to suit every lifestyle and pets are welcome.

We have a Village Nursing Service which offers a clinic service and emergency care. The option to age in place with carers is available. Our Maintenance team cares for the buildings, grounds and units.

Currently, we have several T7 Terraced Cottages (Orchid) available, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, study and a single garage, for R2 013 300 and R2 042 500 respectively and levies between R3891 and R3954 per month.

3 Cypress Way

Unit 40, a T7 (Orchid) terraced unit with rear entry, is available for sale. This unit has 2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, study and a single garage.

The unit has recently been refurbished and has a brand new Kitchen with granite tops. The lovely verandah is private and off the road, facing North East.

Are the routines of daily living and medical care feeling like a strain? Our assisted living options allow you to reduce your stress and focus on the active lifestyle you want to lead without the hassle of day-to-day concerns such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, home maintenance and security. These are complemented by a range of convenience services such as transport into town for shopping.

Access to medical care on an ongoing basis means our carers will come alongside you to support you however you need. We’ve seen first-hand the impact on the individual to such an extent that they can return to a more active lifestyle.

We have an Assisted Living apartment available for purchase at R376 800 on a Life Rights basis and the monthly Levy is R16 136 per month which includes Services, Care and Meals. It has an open-plan bedroom/lounge, a kitchenette, and bathroom as well as a balcony area.

Frail Living on a Rental Basis: Woodgrove Village

In frail care, we come alongside our residents so they get the most out of each day. Our rentals are priced from R24 313 per person per month and we have both single and double rooms.
